Sunday's game with the 1880 girls got off to a bad start when it was realized that the kickoff-time stated on the wedsite was incorrect and instead of 15:30 it was actually 14:30. This resulted in nearly all, except Sandra and Katha, arriving at the away ground at exactly 14:30 while the kit and Djanna did a sight-seeing tour of Munich from one ground to another after an even further mix-up from Djanna left us all sitting there making feeble excuses to the patient but getting less impatient referee and 1880  management.
As it was, the kit arrived at 15:00 and after a rapid change and a tiny warm-up, the skeleton team of seven went out against a full team of seven and four substitutes. The lack of warm-up quickly showed with a couple of quick goals from the opposition. The defense were having a hard time controlling a quick and well organised 1880 team and there were few chances created by the Rovers. Halftime and we were down a few with little chance of coming back. The second half was much the same. There were times where the Rovers did get to do some attacking and periods where they had the game under a little bit of control but it wasn't consistent.
At the end of the game the ref announced it was 16-0 which surprised everybody. Most counts on the sideline were in the region on 12 goals against but as nobody really counted there was little to argue about. Still it was a good run out and we are learning every week, so its back to training and hopefully be more prepared and better organised for next weeks game.

One thing that needs a mention is the general lack of team commitment among some of the members. We have more than seven players eligible to play, but couldn't get more than seven to spare 3 hours for a game. This makes it really hard for the players that do make the effort. It would be nice to see a bit more team spirit. Hopefully there will be more players passes issued in the next weeks, but well done to the girls that did turn up and gave it their best.
