So it was a unusual AH side with no A team players available due to their need to concentrate on their relegation battle and no B team players due to the B team match being played at the same time. But thankfully we managed to field a squad of 13 players. The rovers started well and they had the best of nearly all 50 50 balls, which continued for the whole match mainly due to the players 100 percent physical commitment in these situations. In the opening 20 minutes the rovers had a lot of possession without creating any real chances. Against the run of play the rovers were nearly caught out at the back and after a bit of hand tennis the referee gave a penalty against the rovers. But thanks to the Concordias players honesty the referee over turned the decision. Which was a big left off. Almost immediately the rovers went down the other end of the pitch and pascal was CLOBBERED by their big brute of a center half. Pascals screams where heard all the way in Klinikum Hadern ,who rang the rovers to see if we need a ambulance. The Ambulance was declined and up stepped Markus to do his best impression of Berbatov and Ferdinand with his penalty. The keeper duly saved it and after a almighty goal mouth scramble, Concordia got a goal kick and Markus got a very badly bruised foot. This seemed to encourage Concordia who seemed to be almost constantly on the attack for the remainder of the first half and thanks to Davy Kazan the rovers managed to get to half time 0-0. Proudfoot made some changes at halftime and the rovers went to 3 at the back with 2 man markers. Markus came off injured and was replaced by the manager himself. The second half was basically a lot of comfortable defending from the rovers were everyone was working really hard closing down their men and tracking them back. On a few occasions Concordia thought they were through but some a last ditch header or tackle broke their hearts. In the final minutes Concordia through everything at the rovers looking to snatch a win but the rovers held out for a point we probably didn?t deserve on the chances and general play but a well earned point in terms of effort and how the team worked as a unit. Well done lads and lets now try and go and do something similar on Wednesday night. Players of note tonight were Aherne,Murphy ,Elyada and Kazan. MOM goes to Elyada for his general effort in the match.
