The Rovers first team eased to victory against a toothless Zoo team by three goals to nil and ensuring their fourth straight victory. After a nervy first ten minutes which saw the guests rock the bar from a long range strike, the home team took control when Mc mc mc McArdle fed bio man Dewitt down the channel who cut in and slotted home with comfortable ease (20) and by doing so opening his account for the Rovers
Continuing to control the game the Rovers doubled their lead before half time (35) when Dewitt was released down the line and put in a sumptuous near post cross for Sach to volley home from a couple of yards. Half time arrived and into the hutch; everyone was happy with several players trying to out do each other with various edible delicacies although nobody brought any cream for Sobek much to Mr H's dismay.
Back on to the pitch the Rovers knew a third goal would record another victory in their quest to continue this sequence of results. This duly arrived when a similar type scenario, to the second goal, was played out with Dewitt crossing for Sach to knock in from close range with a slightly more difficult chance than his first (65).
Poulton was then calling for all to retain possession to ensure the first clean sheet of the season. However, some were guilty of looking to score a fifth goal even before the fourth was scored. Fortunately, this created no problems and the Rovers sailed home with Waine and Kraus making their second appearance of the day for the tickled McArdle and Dewitt.
Players of note; Dewitt, Sach and Sluman.
Back in the cabin the Rovers were rocked by the news that The Horse (Torsten) will be touring Afghanhistan next July for his second Afghan/Iraq Tour. We all wish for his safe return in circa January 2011.
