A strong Rovers I squad assembled for an evening kick-off vs Croatia II, seeking to avenge the
draw in the hinrunde. A new 3-5-2 formation was adopted with the two new young lads in defence and Lovell back from sabbatical.

First goal: Their man tried to catch it in the box and the ref duly pointed at the spot. With General Patton absent, Sobek was summoned. Sobek didn't like the lie though, but the ref said? there was no placing on this fairway. Sobek managed to hit his favoured bottom right corner out of the divot anyway.

Second goal: Jesus or Meyer or similar crossed the ball in from the left and Carey nodded home from the back stick.

Third goal: Poulton found himself with acres of space and slotted the ball home from just outside the box.

Half time was brief. We were worried the batsmen would appeal against the light.

Fourth goal: A through-ball went to Carey, who rounded the keeper and was then brought down. Sobek was? again summoned and again didn't fancy the lie. He mixed it up this time and went left and the keeper had no chance.

Fifth goal: Carey nodded another one in. Quite how I don't recall. He was then duly subbed off.

Sixth goal: Pink Polo teed up Clare down the left flank who crossed it in and it was met by a quality finish from their man.

Conceded Goal. Mcardle slipped on the wet ground, allowing Davor Suker to unleash a shot at Joe's backside, which then deflected into the top corner leaving Lovo in goals going the wrong way.

An easy win against fairly ordinary opponents.? ?
