Subs: John for Paul E., Neal Sach for Jeff, Vini for Tanguy Captain: Georg(e) Manager: Paul Elias Kit: Niels M. Goals: Neal, Derek, Deano Great performance against one of top league Teams and well deserved first point (very close to the first win). Second Team started well with a couple of chances for Deano and Derek. Around the 20 minutes, we were down 1-0 but with Neal (shot from 20 yards) and Derek (head from the box, no chance for the keeper) we finished the first half leading 2-1. In the second half, the opposition managed to score another goal for 2-2 but few minutes later Deano scored his first goal for the club directly from a free kick. 3-2 for the Rovers within 20 minutes to go but just few minutes later Paul E. had to take over the goalkeeper role as Sir Brian got injured (get well soon Sir). The opposition finished to score their third goal after their third tentative. Rovers had a couple of more chances with Gary and Jeff but the final score 3-3 did not change. Well done to everybody and let?s keep the momentum.
Cheers Vini

The way to promotion is a long rocky road
Without any points the Munish Irish Rovers arrived for the today?s game. At the will of the SVS it should remain this way ? finally to shorten the gap to the top of the league game by game? The circumstances: perfect, sunny, not to warm, the pitch dried. Mentionable that Andre was in the squad for the first time in this season in his typical role as center defender. After kickoff the first big surprise: Not the SVS dominated but the Rovers took control of the game immediately. They weren?t harmless and had a few good chances to take the lead, but missed some well created chances. As time goes by Schl?sselgarten became stronger and took ? as expected ? the lead. Chris ? who has often been within offside today, but more often was stopped by the ref seeing him offside - took a pass from Edin and scored the lead (17th minute). That couldn?t frighten the Irish as they continued playing consequently. In the 26th minute it had to be the equalizer but a shape cross from the right side was missed by three unmarked Irish boys ? the ball only went outside. After 27th minutes Chris scored a regular goal, but the ref was the only one at the ground to see him within offside. After forty minutes our team earned a free kick from a good position right in front of the goal, but the ball just went over the sideline. This should have been a better effort as it happened later after a similar situation. After that the Rovers took the gloves off and took the lead within two minutes. First a shot from a far distance arrived in goal, and then the Irish used a turnover in the SVS half to deliver the ball right in front of the goal, ending up in a header for the 2:1. Tom was without any chance in both situations.
In the second half the SVS put all the pressure up for the equalizer. But the Rovers stayed confident of bringing the ball outside the danger-zone and having dangerous counterattacks. With a little bit of luck and with their skills our defenders stopped them. In the 55th minute the SVS earned a free kick at the right sideline, Paul brought it in skillful and Sorin scored the equalizer from the left side. Schl?sselgarten was not satisfied with one point, opened his defense and tried to put up pressure on the opponents goal. Unfortunately a lot of attacks were stopped either by the opponent defenders or by the ball bouncing off the feet. So there wasn?t any consequent attacking as a counterstrike an Irish only could be stopped by foul. The gained free kick turned into a goal. Tom touched the ball but could only deflect it to the post from where in went in goal (66th minute). Another time the SVS braced up and had a few good chances like Edin, whose solo only could be stopped by the goalkeeper (68th minute (Sir Brian Meehan by the way)). But also the Rovers ? defending consequently - stayed dangerous and could have scored as well. Anyway: in this stage of the game the SVS put high pressure on ist opponents. With this fighting spirit the game would have ended up in a better effort. So there was only the equalizer for a 3:3 draw in the 80th minute by Maik, who finalized a well played attack. After the last promising scenes (first Tom and Allesandro cleared a chance of the Irish, then Chris missed the chance for the lead when his shot went aside the goal after the following counterattack ? all within the final minute) the ref blew the whistle.
By the way 5 minutes before time because an injury time, regarding to the ambulatory treatment of the keeper (Sir Brian Meehan by the way) and the escort service for him to the sideline, was not given.
Goals SVS: Chris, Sorin, Maik Lineup: Tom M., Andre, Norbert, Vlat, Alessandro, Ashraf, Erdogan, Sorin, Maik, Chris, Damir, Paul, Andi
Conclusion: Not a good game of the SVS. Only a few players reached their normal mode, the team play was partially horrible. But on the other hand side the SVS didn?t give up and fought back. Two times the equalizer was reached by fighting spirit, what finally let a point stay at G?rzer Stra?e Thats not enough for the upcoming weeks but the team can rehabilitate itself within the next game.
