An hour before the game 11 Rovers cleared the pitch as best they could. Nath turned up 12th so ref'd the first half. Gary turned up 13th so played for the opposition and Murphy 14th, was even later, and became the sole sub.
The players were warned by the gaffer, before the game, that any hattricks would lead to goalkeeping duties in the second half. Akin and De Marco fearful of this grabbed 2 a piece but still had to share the gloves in the second half. Colton grabbed a fifth before the opposition gabbed one with their first shot. A second nearly followed by the 'rogue Mullen', playing for the opposition, when his 50 yard run and shot was finger tipped behind for a corner by Sobek.
Murphy grabbed two. One of those was after a special Hollywood pass by Wenzel with Murphy controlling neatly and finishing with aplomb.
H/T 7-1
A tactical reshuffle with the scorers at the back and the non-scorers in attack. Sobek passed on the gloves to Akin and went out to the wing and Thorpe went into the middle. Mullen preferred to remain with the opposition and scored a lovely goal later in the game, which gave the scoreline some sense of respectability come the final whistle.
The second half was more open than the first with everybody who wanted to score scoring with the exception of Donald who despite several chances could not pop one in. Marshall scored in front of his parents. Sobek shot on will and grabbed six in a 30 minute cameo. Akin completed his hattrick and Andrei, Wenzel, Nath and Andre completed the sundries.
Good fun if a little one-sided. Thanks to Gary for playing against us with no fuss and special mention to Nath for reffing the first half and being rewarded with taking the kit home.
Also, to everybody else who made it an enjoyable run around and for coming in to socialise with the opposition after the game.
I'm off to Vegas.
Catch you soon folks.
Yeah Baby!
